Yanina Figueroa
DMD, MPH
Dr. Yanina Figueroa, DMD, is a talented and dedicated endodontist who thrives on the challenges presented by her specialty. When asked why she chose endodontics, she enthusiastically replies, “I love the challenge—every person and every tooth is different. There is never a dull moment, just a dull bur!”
Originally from Sabana Grande, Dr. Figueroa attended Blanca Malaret High School before earning her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez. She later earned her DMD degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine and completed a two-year General Practice Residency at the same institution. During her residency, she cared for medically complex patients in a hospital-based environment and served as a faculty member contributing to the Diabetes Clinic and University District Hospital. At the same time, she pursued a Master’s in Public Health with a concentration in Public Health.
While working as a general dentist in private practice, Dr. Figueroa developed a deep passion for endodontics and decided to pursue advanced specialty training at the University of Pennsylvania. There, she trained under internationally recognized leaders in endodontics while utilizing advanced technology and modern treatment techniques.
Dr. Figueroa takes great pride in providing patients with a comfortable and positive experience during their visits. She values collaboration with referring dentists and believes that strong communication and teamwork are essential to delivering the highest level of patient care.
She is an active member of the Georgia Dental Association and holds the distinguished title of Diplomate of the American Association of Endodontists, reflecting her dedication to excellence and continued professional growth.
Dr. Figueroa lives in Atlanta with her husband, son, and beloved dog.
Fun Facts About Dr. Figueroa
- Friends and family jokingly call Dr. Figueroa the “MacGyver” of the group because she loves figuring out how things work and fixing almost anything she can get her hands on. She enjoys refurbishing antique furniture and taking old pieces and giving them a completely new life.
- One of her favorite hobbies is exploring Goodwill stores and antique shops, searching for hidden vintage treasures and unique finds.
- Give her a toolbox and a challenge—even a car engine—and she will probably figure out how to fix it.
